ABOUT THE COURSE
Each workshop will consist of 3 sessions:
- A 1-hour online repertoire preparation session.
- A 2-hour repertoire conducting session with a collaborative pianist.
- A 1-hour repertoire conducting session with an orchestra.
The price of each workshop, which includes all three sessions, will be €130.
Each workshop will have a maximum of 4 active participants, which means that the podium time for each active participant will be 30 minutes in the piano session and 15 minutes in the orchestra session.
Each of the practical sessions will be video recorded, and the recording will be made available to the student in the days following the workshop.
One of our objectives with these workshops is to facilitate the students’ contact with orchestras so they can acquire real-world experience and practice. The orchestras we will work with are youth orchestras, stable and with programming and concerts throughout the season. We will collaborate with them at some point in their repertoire preparation process; this means that sometimes the rehearsals will coincide with the initial stages of preparing the works, and at other times with more advanced stages closer to their concerts. The attendance of musicians in these ensembles is good, though not always complete. We will work with them, experiencing the reality of these orchestras firsthand.
