ABOUT THE COURSE
The Conducting Programs International Winter Conducting Workshop is an intensive 5-day program held on the suburban campus of Towson University, just north of Baltimore. Designed for conducting fellows and associates, the workshop provides hands-on podium experience focusing on orchestral masterpieces by Mozart, Brahms, and Mendelssohn.
Fellows receive approximately 90 minutes of total conducting time across three sessions with members of the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra and four sessions with a one-per-part chamber ensemble. Daily activities feature technique sessions, individual video review, and group discussions led by Markand Thakar and faculty member Michael Avagliano.
Associates participate fully in all daily sessions, video reviews, and discussions, gaining comprehensive pedagogical insights alongside active conducting fellows.
