Oregon City (Portland), United States
28 OCT – 01 NOV 2026

ABOUT THE COURSE

The 2026 Twin Rivers Conducting Workshop offers nine active conductors an intensive five-day experience to refine their conducting technique and rehearsal preparation. Led by esteemed pedagogue Dr. Monika Stefaniak and Dr. Mark Perlman, Music Director of the Willamette Falls Symphony and Tualatin Valley Symphony, the workshop combines detailed score study with practical podium experience in the Portland, Oregon area.

Participants receive 65 minutes of podium time with a piano and string quintet, followed by 60 minutes with a full symphony orchestra. The workshop culminates in a public final concert with the Willamette Falls Symphony, which will be video recorded for conductors to use for their professional portfolios. All participants are required to observe all sessions when not conducting.

In addition to podium time and video footage, one outstanding participant will be selected as the Assistant Conductor for the 2027 Oregon Mahler Festival. The workshop language is English, and there are no age limits for participants or observers.
