Schlaefli Conducting Masterclass Basel – Feb 2027

25 – 28 FEB 2027

ABOUT THE COURSE

The Conducting Academy presents an intensive orchestral masterclass led by renowned pedagogue Johannes Schlaefli in collaboration with the Basel Chamber Orchestra at the Don Bosco Cultural Center in Basel, Switzerland.

Limited to only 6 active participants, this exclusive four-day course provides an exceptional amount of podium time—approximately 145 minutes per conductor. Participants will work closely with a world-class professional chamber orchestra on a refined symphonic program including works by Mozart, Mussorgsky, and Bruckner.

The masterclass schedule features structured daily rehearsal sessions, individual feedback and video analysis, and culminates in a public final presentation (‘Kostprobe’) where all participants conduct the ensemble, followed by a networking reception.
