Orchestra Conducting Masterclass Civita Castellana 2026

Andrea Foti, Gianluigi Dettori
Civita Castellana (Rome), Italy
08 – 11 OCT 2026

ABOUT THE COURSE

The Orchestral Conducting Masterclass in Civita Castellana will take place from October 8 to 11, 2026, under the guidance of Maestro Andrea Foti, assisted by Maestro Gianluigi Dettori. Organized by Civitafestival, this intensive course is designed to refine the fundamental technical skills of conductors who already have experience working with string ensembles or full orchestras. Theory and score analysis sessions will be held at the Sala MICE in Civita Castellana.

Active participants will have the opportunity to practice during a total of 18 hours of rehearsal with the ODM Orchestra Domenico Mazzocchi, the festival’s resident orchestra, which is recognized by the Ministry of Culture. The course accepts a maximum of 12 active students and 5 auditors, selected based on their CVs and a video recording. For active students, the participation fee includes four nights of B&B accommodation.

The masterclass will conclude on October 11 with a public concert—part of the Civitafestival Winter series—at the Cathedral of Santa Maria Maggiore, conducted by the course’s top students. The event will be professionally filmed, and a copy of the recording will be provided to the participating students.
