ABOUT THE COURSE
The Opera Conducting Masterclass with the State Opera Stara Zagora in Bulgaria is an intensive program led by Vladimir Boshnakov and Anthony Armore. The masterclass is designed to provide conductors with hands-on rehearsal and performance experience with a professional opera company, focusing on standard operatic repertoire sung in their original languages.
Each active participant is guaranteed substantial rehearsal time including orchestra, choir, and Sitzprobe sessions, along with private and group coaching. The masterclass culminates in a public performance where each conductor will lead a full act or approximately one-quarter of one of the programmed operas.
The program is limited to the first eight active participants who apply and are accepted, with selection based on CV and conducting video submissions. Free ground transportation is organized by the State Opera from Sofia International Airport to the accommodation and back for all conductors.
