ABOUT THE COURSE
L’Auditori de Barcelona and the Banda Municipal de Barcelona, with the collaboration of the Federación Catalana de Sociedades Musicales, open the call for the fourth edition of the Wind Band Conducting Course. Directed by José R. Pascual-Vilaplana, principal conductor of the Banda Municipal de Barcelona, the course will be held from July 1 to 5, 2024, and interested parties can register from Monday, February 12 until April 6.
The objective of the course is to contribute to the training of conductors through practical and theoretical sessions. The students will work on the repertoire of the Banda Municipal de Barcelona and reflect on aspects such as the study of gestural language, the analysis and study technique of scores, rehearsal planning, intonation, and also prominent aspects due to the reality of wind bands such as programming or strategies to maintain motivation and stimulate the evolution of the band members.
In order to achieve the greatest possible participation, the Wind Band Conducting Course at L’Auditori will accept a maximum of 10 active participants, in addition to admitting auditors, who will be part of the theoretical classes and attend as spectators in the practical classes. Classes will be taught morning and afternoon.
