III BMG Wind Band Conducting Course-Competition 2025

ABOUT THE COMPETITION

In this edition, the guest professor to develop the course-competition alongside the principal conductor of the BMG will be Maestro Andrés Salado.

General objectives:

  • Gestural technique: To provide gestural tools for correct musical communication.
  • Score analysis: To understand musical analysis tools that allow delving into what the composer wanted to show in their work.
  • Ear training: An adequate sensitivity in listening is necessary for the conductor.
  • Programming: Correct programming is a very important aspect to be able to carry out the operation of any type of orchestra.
  • Flexibility in the BMG: Reacting to the different ways of conducting of the course attendees is good training for the flexibility of our wind band.
  • To involve the musicians of the BMG in the conducting competition as jurors with a vote in choosing the winner.
