ABOUT THE COURSE

The objective of this course is to offer a new and different perspective on the world of wind band conducting. To learn about the repertoire and the functioning of wind bands in Brazil. In addition to providing technical and artistic resources that will be applied in the practical sessions with the different ensembles.

The principal professor of the course is maestro Darío Sotelo. The practical sessions will be carried out with the octet and the Symphonic Wind Band of the A.M. La Lira de Cheste. Repertoire of different levels will be tackled so that the conductors can work on all technical issues related to conducting.

The course is aimed at conductors of wind bands, orchestras, and/or ensembles: students of Higher Degree in Music in any specialty and professional musicians with experience in conducting.

The course will have 6 spots for active participants, with the right to carry out the practical sessions with the ensembles. Auditors will be able to participate in the execution of technical exercises (if applicable), but will not have the right to carry out practical sessions.
