ABOUT THE COURSE
The Diputación de Albacete has organized the I Wind Band Conducting Training Course aimed at active conductors of federated wind bands in the province, with the aim of helping them complete, update, and expand their theoretical and practical knowledge.
Together with the Federación Regional Castellanomanchega de Sociedades de Música (FRCMSM), the Albacete institution has launched this completely free initiative, which was created with the vocation of being maintained over time and in line with the commitment that the Government headed by Santi Cabañero has been demonstrating with a key sector in the sociocultural activity of the province, contributing to its development and revitalization.
In total, this course consists of 10 spots, although auditors will be admitted until full capacity is reached. Registrations can be made from August 1 to 26 through the electronic headquarters of the Diputación de Albacete, in the general requests section (using a specific form).
This initiative will take place throughout the month of September and will be developed in two phases. The first of these will consist of an online class (September 1), in which both technical and psychological aspects of conducting will be addressed. For its part, the second will be in-person (September 27, 28, and 29) and will take place in Munera, where practical work will be done with both chamber groups and the local Banda Municipal de Música. In addition, on the 29th of that same month, a closing concert is scheduled that will put the ‘finishing touch’ to the training.
Maestro Cristóbal Soler, currently the conductor of the Banda Sinfónica de Valencia with extensive experience in training in conducting techniques and strategies, will be in charge of teaching the course, which will be accredited with a diploma. In addition, anyone who wishes may request a certificate of the teaching hours.
