ABOUT THE COMPETITION
For the first time, the Excmo. Ayuntamiento de Guadassuar, in collaboration with the Societat Unió Musical “Sta. Cecília” de Guadassuar, organizes the I WIND BAND CONDUCTING COURSE – COMPETITION “AYUNTAMIENTO DE GUADASSUAR”, a project born with the aim of valuing Wind Bands, musical societies that are a fundamental part of the culture of the municipalities of our Land.
This course-competition is aimed at all those who wish to introduce, expand, or consolidate knowledge around the wind band world in general, and wind band conducting in particular.

- Viewing of videos from the practical sessions.
- Figure and function of the conductor.
- Study of conducting technique.
- The communication process of the gesture.
- How to approach the preparation and study of a score.
- Rehearsal planning and techniques.
- Wind band organology: characteristics.
- Programming and specific repertoires of wind band music.
- Presentations and colloquiums with different composers and conductors linked to the conducting world.
- Practical sessions with wind band and harmoniemusik group.
