ABOUT THE COURSE

The Girton Conducting Course is an award-winning integrated programme of study designed for serious students wishing to explore all aspects of the conductor’s art. Held at the University of Chichester, it provides a progressive learning environment starting with piano and instrumental workshops, culminating in full orchestra sessions with the Sussex Chamber Orchestra.

The course emphasizes a structured learning programme with practical work supported by classes in score study, interpretation, ear training, and performance psychology. The faculty includes Course Directors Dominic Grier and Denise Ham, along with a special masterclass by Colin Metters. Students are placed in groups appropriate to their ability, assessed via video submission before the course.
