ABOUT THE COURSE
Ensemble OrQuesta will launch its opera conducting academy in 2026, offering young conductors the opportunity to lead a fully staged production of Mozart’s The Magic Flute. Under the guidance of Marcio da Silva, participants will receive specialized training and technical instruction in operatic conducting.
Rehearsals will take place in Hastings in collaboration with an eight-piece chamber ensemble from the Hastings Philharmonic Orchestra. The specialized program guarantees that each of the four selected active conductors will lead at least one full act during the scheduled performances in both Hastings and London’s Arcola Theatre.
