ABOUT THE COURSE
The Denver Philharmonic International Conducting Workshop, Concert and Competition offers dynamic training in the ‘Mile High City’ of Denver, Colorado. Led by conductors Lawrence Golan and Sarah Ioannides, the course combines rigorous score study, career development, and programming classes with extensive podium time. Participants will conduct either full orchestra or string ensemble repertoire, culminating in a public concert performance.
Accepted conductors choose between Platinum Level (full orchestra focus) and Gold Level (string orchestra focus) tracks. All active participants appear in the final public concert. At the faculty’s discretion, one competition winner will be awarded the opportunity to return the following season to guest conduct the Denver Philharmonic Orchestra on a subscription concert.
Active participation is limited to 14 conductors (6 Platinum Level and 8 Gold Level) to guarantee meaningful time with the orchestra and dedicated video reviews with faculty. Discounts are available for participants who play in the pre-concert string ensemble.
