ABOUT THE COURSE
The 13th International Masterclass Conducting Technique with Professor René Gulikers takes place from February 19 to 26, 2027, in Chiny, Belgium. Designed as an immersive musical retreat in the Belgian Ardennes, the course focuses on refining conducting technique—partly based on Sergiu Celibidache’s method—and comprehensive score study. Individual instruction is tailored to the precise needs of each student in a supportive and focused environment.
Open to music students, conductors preparing for entrance exams, and professional musicians of all ages, the course is strictly limited to 8 active participants. The curriculum includes five 50-minute individual lessons, daily group classes, and sessions with two professional collaborative pianists or piano with soloist during the final days. A non-public final video recording session provides participants with personalized feedback for future development.
Participants benefit from full board accommodation at the Gîte de la Semois, including private rooms, meals, and access to relaxation facilities. Registration is processed on a first-come, first-served basis, with early bird discounts available for applications submitted before October 11, 2026.
