ABOUT THE COURSE
Accademia Musicale S. Cecilia presents an advanced choral conducting and executive practice masterclass focused on 17th-century Italian sacred repertoire. Led by Filippo Maria Bressan, the course prepares participants for a solemn Marian Vespers concert celebrating the 400th anniversary of composer Giovanni Legrenzi at the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore in Bergamo.
Participants will work directly with professional ensembles, including the Cappella Musicale della Basilica and the instrumental ensemble Magnifica Comunità led by concertmaster Enrico Casazza. Special lectures on Gregorian chant by Don Nicola Bellinazzo and liturgy by Don Gilberto Sessantini will complement the instruction.
Open to choral and orchestral conductors of all ages and nationalities, as well as singers. A maximum of 8 active conductors will be admitted based on CV evaluation, from which 6 will be chosen to conduct in the final public concert.
