Blue Danube Opera Conducting Masterclass – Feb 2027

Niels Muus
04 – 12 FEB 2027

ABOUT THE COURSE

The Opera Conducting Masterclass with the State Opera Stara Zagora takes place from February 4 to 12, 2027, led by Niels Muus. Held in Bulgaria, this intensive program focuses on two major fully-staged operatic works: Verdi’s Aida and Puccini’s Tosca, both performed in their original languages with full cast and staging.

Designed for maximum practical experience, each participant works directly with professional soloists, choir, and orchestra. The course includes private and group coaching, piano rehearsals, choir sessions, Sitzprobe/Italiana rehearsals, and dress rehearsals. Active conductors receive direct podium time leading up to a public performance in which each participant conducts approximately one full act or a quarter of an opera.

Participation is strictly limited to eight active conductors selected on a first-come, first-served basis upon acceptance.
