ABOUT THE COURSE
The International Conductors Guild, in collaboration with the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, presents a comprehensive Conductor Training Workshop from October 19 to 23, 2026, in Little Rock, Arkansas. Hosted at the ASO’s newly built Stella Boyle Smith Music Center, this intensive week of study offers participating conductors direct podium time with two pianos, string ensemble, and full professional orchestra.
Led by Music Director Geoffrey Robson alongside distinguished conductors Dr. John Farrer and Dr. Julius P. Williams, the workshop curriculum covers conducting technique, in-depth score analysis, repertoire discussions, and valuable career guidance. Participants will work on works by Dvořák, Schubert, and Jessie Montgomery.
Ten active conductors will be selected to participate in the workshop, which culminates in a final concert with the full orchestra on Friday evening. Auditors are also welcome to attend all sessions.
