ABOUT THE COURSE
The Conducting Masterclass with Prof. Christoph-Mathias Mueller is an intensive five-day professional training program held in Sofia, Bulgaria. Led by Prof. Mueller, who succeeded the legendary Johannes Schlaefli at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), the course continues the prestigious European conducting tradition. The program is designed for professional conductors and advanced conducting students seeking to refine their technical skills and musical interpretation.
The curriculum is highly practical, featuring a structured progression from ensemble work during the first two days to rehearsals with a full symphony orchestra for the remaining three days. Under the artistic guidance of Prof. Mueller, participants will engage in daily podium sessions, video analysis, score study, coaching, and rehearsals, focusing on score analysis, rehearsal strategies, and communication. The masterclass culminates in two professional recording sessions, providing participants with high-quality promotional video material for their portfolios.
The course fee of €1890 is structured with a €1390 deposit due in September and the remaining balance due in October or cash on arrival, while a €75 non-refundable application fee is required. The fees do not include travel or accommodation, and active participant selection is communicated within seven days of the September deadline.
