ABOUT THE COURSE
The 1st Adana LWI Conducting Masterclass & Competition takes place from December 8 to 11, 2026, in Adana, Türkiye. Held under the artistic direction of conductors Symeon Ioannidis and Orhan Salliel, the course offers comprehensive orchestral training in collaboration with the Cukurova Symphony Orchestra Adana. The program is specifically structured to prepare active participants for professional auditions, orchestra competitions, and university entrance examinations.
Participants will gain intensive hands-on experience conducting both piano sessions and orchestral rehearsals with the Cukurova Symphony Orchestra Adana. The curriculum features a diverse selection of works by Brahms, Dvořák, Weber, Johann Strauss II, Orff, and Mozart. Active participation is limited to a maximum of 15 selected conductors to ensure generous individual podium time and detailed pedagogical feedback.
The masterclass culminates in a final concert where the audience and the Cukurova Symphony Orchestra Adana jointly vote on competition prizes. The 1st Prize winner will be awarded a guest conducting engagement with the orchestra during the 2027/2028 season. Additionally, a Turkish Conductors Scholarship is available, offering a 50% fee reduction for a selected young Turkish conductor.
